International Work Placement Scheme
QUT's International Work Placement Scheme (IWPS) allows international students who are studying at QUT to gain work experience in their home country while they study. Work placements will take place during the end-of-year break, normally for the period late November to mid February.
Undertaking an international work placement can provide many benefits.
- The placement allows you to experience the 'real world' environment before your graduation.
- You will be familiarised with recruitment procedures and work practices in your home country.
- The placement will enable you to start networking in relevant professions.
- You will be provided with work experience for your resume.
- You will be assisted in your career development - often helping you to decide on final subjects such as electives.
- Finally the placement is often used as a recruitment tool by employers and can result in a graduate job.
