Financial Support
Vice-Chancellor's Elite Athlete Financial Support Fund
The Vice-Chancellor provides funding for some financial support for QUT elite athletes. It has been recognised there is a large number of representative athletes at QUT, and the cost of competing can be hard to meet whilst studying a degree.
The funding will be available to currently enrolled QUT elite athletes undertaking study, and who have been committed to completing their studies as well as pursuing their representative sport. Students should consider applying for funding if they are:
- Travelling internationally to a competition, training camp, or tour;
- Travelling in Australia to a competition or selection trial which is a qualifier for an international competition
Calls for applications are made in April and September. Second semester applications for 2011 will close on Thursday 30 September 2011.
Application details and enquiry information are listed on the form.

AIME Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience
An opportunity to provide your support to Indigenous high school students. AIME is inviting QUT's elite athletes to sign up.
Commencing in 2010, QUT has partnered with AIME (Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience) to match energetic university mentors with Indigenous high school students in a 1 hour a week mentoring program.
AIME offers uni students an exciting opportunity to be partnered with Indigenous high School students in an interactive 1-on-1 structured mentoring program. The program aims to increase school attendance and completion rates of Indigenous Australians whilst offering uni mentors a potentially life changing experience.
Most AIME mentoring sessions will be conducted on QUT campus saving you travel time.
