QUT Access

QUT access username/password and an email account will be created. Mentor will be able to access email, QUT Virtual and/or another generic access available to QUT visitors.

ID Card

Mentor details will be sent to the ID card system to allow ID card to be issued.

Library

Mentor will be able to activate their ID card to gain library borrowing rights and access to all QUT subscribed databases.

Access will be available from March to March each year a mentor participates in the scheme.

3 Steps for gaining access:

Step 1:

Visit the Student Centre (open weekdays)

Note: Please contact the Career Mentor Scheme Co-ordinator 24 hours before turning-up in order to find out your visitor number which will assist staff when searching for your details.

  • Gardens Point Campus; A Block (3138 9227) – 9:00 to 5:00pm (Open to 5:30pm Mon &Tues)
  • Kelvin Grove Campus; Level 6, F Block (3138 5409) - 9:00 to 5:00pm
  • Carseldine Campus; Level 2, C Block (3138 4560) - 9:00 to 5:00pm

The Staff will take your photo and issue a card on the spot (photo ID is required – eg. drivers licence). Mentors are classified as staff, not visitors, for search purposes.

 

Step 2: To activate your QUT access account:

Gardens Point (2 George Street, Brisbane City – 3138 1474)
Take your QUT ID Card to the Library, Level 4, V Block to QUT Printing Services and request for your account to be activated.

Kelvin Grove (Victoria Park Road, Kelvin Grove – 3138 3938)
Take your QUT ID Card to the Library, Level 3, R Block to QUT Printing Services and request for your account to be activated.

Carseldine (Beams Road, Carseldine – 3138 4772)
Take your QUT ID Card to the Library, Level 2, R Block to QUT Printing Services and request for your account to be activated.

 

Step 3:

You will need to log-on to a computer to activate your account and accept the QUT Information Facilities rules. Further information about this process is available at: http://www.scg.qut.edu.au/staff/getset/ You should then have access to QUT intranet, email and library borrowing services.
