If you are applying for a graduate position you may find that the selection process will involve more than one interview. Generally the aim of the initial interview is to screen potential candidates in order to further refine the candidate pool.

The initial or screening interview can be conducted in person or over the telephone and can be either conducted in a formal or informal manner. The key is to remember that whenever you are dealing with the employer they are always assessing you. This means that seemingly ‘friendly’ or ‘conversational’ types of questions are often designed to obtain information about you to assist with the selection process.
