Anti-discrimination Law http://www.adcq.qld.gov.au/ and http://www.deir.qld.gov.au/industrial/index.htm
prohibits advertisements that indicate an intention to discriminate on the grounds of:
- sex
- pregnancy
- ethnic or ethno-religous background
- age
- transgender status
- marital status
- race
- disability
- homosexuality
- need to care for or support a child or other 'immediate family member'

- Any costs to the applicants e.g. required training for the position, or the requirement of an Australian Business Number (ABN) must be clearly outlined in advertisements.
- It also must be clear to applicants if a position involves unpaid work e.g. volunteer or work experience positions.
- Volunteer work: Careers and Employment follows the guidelines of Volunteering Australia.
- QUT Careers and Employment Online services are for advertising available jobs whilst studying and graduate/postgraduate work. QUT Careers and Employment cannot be used for advertising or promotional material.
- QUT Careers and Employment reserves the right not to accept any advertisement and to alter an advertisement. QUT Careers and Employment is not responsible for errors, omissions or non-insertion.
- Agencies and third party recruiters are required to provide Careers and Employment with the name and address of the organisation for which they are recruiting. This information will not necessarily appear in the job advertisement.
