The Career Planning Model shows the ever-changing process of career development. Your understanding of yourself, the world of work, and your influences (internal and external) have a significant impact on the decisions you make throughout your career journey.

Waiting until final year to start preparing for your career is not really an option anymore. Career development is a process that starts in first year. Your career starts here!

What is a Career these days?

"The term career" is becoming more complex than ever before. A career incorporates all facets of an individual's life. Thus, it requires you to understand yourself, the world of work, and the influences around you. Career development in today's world is constantly changing. Change is everywhere. No longer are there short periods of change followed by long periods of stability. We have to learn to live and prosper in a world of constantly changing demands and possibilities. Given the complexity of career development and the fluidity of the world of work, we need to be able to navigate our career paths with purpose and clarity. Career development is a life long process. No matter what stage of your life, you will be navigating a career path. For example, if you are changing your career direction, looking for work experience possibilities, or even choosing your course or majors
