QUT and Careers and Employment is committed to providing students and staff course related employment outcome data that is reflective of the real world. The data obtained via the Graduate Destinations Survey each year provides a snap shot of possible employment outcomes approximately 3 months after the completion of a course. For many fields and disciplines employment outcome data obtain close to the period of graduation is not reflective of actual employment opportunities that may exist for graduates. Due to the complex nature of career development within certain disciplines a course related position may require a longer period of time to obtain.

To gain a more realistic picture of possible career opportunities Careers and Employment in conjunction with various faculties is conducting follow-up surveys to track the career development of QUT graduates at least one year after completing their courses.
