Course experience (CEQ) |

The Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) investigates the opinions of recent graduates from all undergraduate and coursework postgraduate courses regarding their course experience. The CEQ is a component of the national Australian Graduate Survey that is conducted on a yearly basis in association with Graduate Careers Australia (GCA).
CEQ ScalesQUT uses a 19 item questionnaire which is aggregated into four scales including a measure of overall satisfaction and two open ended questions asking graduates ‘What were the best aspects of your course?’ and ‘What aspects of your course are most in need of improvement?’ The 19 items are rated on a 5 point Likert scale ranging from Strongly Disagree (1) to Strongly Agree (5). CEQ Quantitative DataThe CEQ quantitative data is reported by QUT Corporate Reporting (QCR). Reports are generated at the university, faculty, course and course major levels. Comparisons of data can be made to previous years or National Field of Study. CEQ reports. CEQ Qualitative DataThe comments obtained by the CEQ are distributed to their corresponding faculties by Careers and Employment. Any defamatory comments are removed prior to distribution. This data is useful for obtaining specific information that allows faculties to gain a better understanding of the quantitative data and improve QUT courses. CEQuery SoftwareCEQuery is a software package that allows for detailed and systematic analysis of the comments collected in the Course Experience Questionnaire each year by universities. The software can be used to explore and analyse key themes addressed by graduates. CEQuery software and user manuals are downloadable from the QCR website.
