[Print-friendly version]

Graduate data is collected via the Australian Graduate Survey (AGS), which is administered annually to Australian University graduates to gather information about graduate destinations, graduate starting salaries and course experience. The survey consists of the Graduate Destinations Survey (GDS) and either the Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) for non-research students or the Postgraduate Research Experience Questionnaire (PREQ) for research students.

The GDS gains information on student outcomes such as percentages of graduates in full time employment and further study. The CEQ and PREQ gather data on graduate perceptions of course satisfaction and provides an opportunity for open ended comments.

The Australian Graduate Survey (AGS) has been conducted annually by Graduate Careers Australia (GCA) through higher education institutions since 1972. Prior to 2006, it was known as the Graduate Destinations Survey.

The results are reported both within institutions and nationally. National summaries are produced by Graduate Careers Australia (GCA) and this data provides one of the few national benchmarks by which comparisons can be made by Field of Education.
