QUT Careers and Employment

Recognition and Achievements

The QUT Careers and Employment service is utilised by students and graduates, employers and industry, and faculty staff.

The team endeavours to assist students with their career development and employment preparation, and offers a large range of services and resources in these areas. Career development and counselling are informed by the latest research, current employment trends, opportunities and contacts.

Employers and industry comprise a large part of Careers and Employment's activities. A comprehensive range of services are offered with the goal of providing employers assistance with graduate and undergraduate recruitment and connections with QUT students. Employers are encouraged to raise their company profiles with students and have the opportunity to recruit from QUT's study body.

Careers and Employment has numerous programs to aid employment preparation, many of which lead the field in Australia and through benchmarking exercises with six international universities in the UK, Canada, USA and Australia. Members of the team typically present papers at national and international conferences at least twice per year and are always well received.

The service was chosen to be a lead case study in the 2007–2008 DEEWR Review of Career Services in Higher Education in Australia. Careers and Employment has also been recognised for the outstanding services provided to both students and employers.
